1. Who this applies to
This policy applies to everyone who uses Acadvio, the web portal and the mobile app: school leaders and staff, parents and guardians, and anyone else a school gives access to. It forms part of our Terms of Service with schools. Each school may add its own rules; where they are stricter, the school’s rules apply too.
2. Your account is yours alone
- Do not share your sign-in details or let anyone else use your account, including family members or colleagues.
- Use only the access your school has given you, for school purposes.
- Tell your school straight away if you think someone else has used your account.
- Sign out on shared devices.
3. Messages and content
- Be respectful. No harassment, threats, bullying, hate speech, or abusive or sexual content, in any language.
- Do not post anything unlawful, defamatory, or that infringes someone else’s rights.
- Share another person’s personal data only for the school purpose it was given for.
- Do not upload malware, or files you have no right to share.
Acadvio checks messages, homework, notices and remarks for abusive words in English, Hindi and Hinglish. A message that fails the check is not sent; the sender is asked to rephrase it. Messages sent through Acadvio are school records: the school can review them when a concern is raised.
4. Data and downloads
- Do not scrape, copy in bulk or export personal data except as your role and your school allow.
- Reveal a parent’s phone number or email only when you need it, for example in an emergency.
- Keep downloads and printouts secure and delete them when they are no longer needed.
Sensitive actions, such as exports, bulk prints, opening documents, viewing ID numbers and revealing contacts, are recorded in an access log, and unusual patterns raise a privacy flag for the school to review.
5. Security
- Do not try to get around sign-in, roles or other security controls, or to access data that is not meant for you.
- Do not test, scan or attack the service, or overload it with automated requests.
- If you find a security weakness, report it under our Responsible Disclosure Policy and do not use it.
6. What happens if the rules are broken
Depending on how serious it is, the school or we may warn the user, remove content, suspend or close the account, and, where the law requires it or a crime may have been committed, inform the authorities. We may suspend access straight away if the service, its users or their data are at risk. The school decides on matters between its own users; we act on platform-wide risks.
7. Reporting misuse
Parents and staff should report misuse to their school first. You can also write to us at info@boffincoders.com. Complaints about how personal data is handled go to our grievance officer.
